ISPERN Report for March 30, 2024

The “Illinois State Police Emergency Radio Network” is a two-way police radio channel that all law enforcement agencies within the state have access to, to allow for better collaboration and communication in dynamic situations.

Each day, anywhere from ten to dozens of alerts are broadcast by police officers and dispatchers in Illinois in Chicagoland alone.

Some of the calls reported are carjackings/auto-theft, fleeing & eluding, wanted person alerts, unlawful use of a weapon incidents, police pursuits (active & terminated), and citizen reports of reckless, drunk, or wrong-way drivers – among many others as varied as a patrol officer’s shift report.

Here, we report the most significant calls heard by our team in Chicagoland. Not all call summaries will indicate a final resolution, but may have been concluded nonetheless on a different channel without updating ISPERN.

This list is non-exhaustive and is filtered and summarized for simplicity.

About five minutes later at Harlem and 84th Street, it was reported that the vehicle was located and being followed by Forest View units. As they followed southbound, the stolen car crashed under a semi-truck near 87th Street and two individuals fled from the car.
