On September 7, 2023 around 10:00am CDT, an Illinois State Police officer located a stolen Mercedes Sprinter van that had been carjacked just an hour earlier.
The chase proceeded along the Dan Ryan corridor in Chicago (I-90/94). ISP, assisted by CPD, pursued the suspect vehicle on and off the expressway throughout the southside of Chicago until finally coming to an end near 67th and Perry where the suspect was taken into custody after allegedly ditching a handgun nearby.
Details beyond this audio are scarce at the moment, as this incident just ocurred today – and we’ll edit this description if more information becomes available.
The Illinois State Police did an excellent job and we thank this officer for sticking with the pursuit.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
