On the afternoon of May 6, 2023, a vehicle with temporary tags was spotted by an Oak Brook Police Officer. The officer initiated a stop to confirm the vehicles information. The vehicle instead fled and the officer initiated a pursuit.
After evading the stop and using the shoulder of I-290 to attempt to get away, the suspect exited the expressway, side-swiped a vehicle, and came to a stop in the parkway where she fled on foot. Officers apprehended her after a short foot pursuit.
The passenger, who can be heard at the end of the video, did not flee and cooperated with officers during and after being detained. He was later released without charges.
The driver is charged with driving without a valid license, driving without insurance, and aggravated fleeing and eluding.
Our hats off to the Oak Brook Police Department and their partner agencies for a job well done.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
