In the Chicago area on the evening of Saturday, February 26, 2022, a Joliet Police Officer attempted to stop a 20yo Illinois man from the same city. The suspect immediately fled the officer in a reckless manner at a high rate of speed down a semi-residential street.
Upon catching up, it became clear the offender had run from the vehicle while out of the officer’s sight. With the help of multiple witnesses and bystanders and aided by a K-9 team, Joliet officers searched the area until finding the suspect buried under home furnishings outside a residence.
The offender was reportedly charged with reckless driving, aggravated fleeing and eluding, DUI, and aggravated DUI. Bail was set at $25,000 by a judge with the Will County Court of Illinois.
The dashcam and bodycam footage seen in this video are a testament to methodical police work and good training.
We thank the officers of the Joliet Police Department for their hard work and commitment to the community.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
